SERGIO BUSTAMENTE STYLE SIGNED "SERMEL" VINTAGE LION COFFEE TABLE

$1,495.00
sold out

A TRUE WORK OF ART FOR THE BIG CAT LOVER!

This piece is signed "Sermel Tonala Jal. Mexico." Sergio Bustamante and Melquiades Preciado founded the “Sermel” studio in 1963. A combination of the first three letters of their first names “Ser-Mel” was born. Sergio Bustamante left the workshop in the late 1970s to become one of the world's most renowned Mexican sculptors and artists. This one-of-a-kind lion piece is made of a resin/fiberglass type material. Hollow sound when knocked on, very sturdy.

🦁This vintage lion appears to be the real deal. However, I am NOT a Bustamente expert. Why my listing title mentions Sergio Bustamente "style."🦁

-DIMENSIONS-

GLASS: The skinniest part of the glass is 18 inches wide (the part that dates in the lion's mouth), widest part of the glass is 33.5 inches wide, 41.5 inches in length.

LION: Head to tail is 42 inches long, the distance between lion's feet is 37 inches wide, front paws are 22 inches tall, bottom legs are 16 inches tall, lion's mane is 16 inches wide, lion's mouth is 3.5x3.5.

Great vintage condition—normal wear commensurate with age. Not a single major flaw to note. See ALL photos. The only others you can find online of this table are in much worse shape and also not signed like this one.
